Would quite happily have either a Boxter or a Cayman. Beautiful Porsche flat six, manual gearbox - perfection. Haters can p**s off.
1Anyone who claimed the Boxster isn’t a real Porsche, doesn’t know anything about the history of Porsche. They were building 2 seater roadsters long before the 911.
1I have the 981 GTS and I have not one shred of embarrassment driving it. I’m so happy I got one that isn’t a 4 cylinder or electric.
1I never understand why some ppls like talk shit to the Boxster. It's mid-engine RWD, and it's a pure Porsche-designed and made sports car, not some made-up VW/AUDI cars. The Boxster is guaranteed to be a fun car. And it is affordable (for a Porsche)!
1I personally like the hate that the boxter gets because it keeps the price down. I own a first generation 99 model for 12k U.S. in immaculate condition with 130k miles on it. It drives like no other car I have owned and it's the funnest car I have ever owned and I've owned about 15 cars in my lifetime and I'm 53 years old.
1The sentiments in this video sum up what true driving enthusiasts have known all along, performance figures look great on a spreadsheet, but have little to do with how satisfying a vehicle is to operate.
1I've driven all sorts of 911s, and plenty of boxsters and caymans. They are all great, and they all do certain things better than the others. A Porsche is a Porsche and they are all great.
1I’ve got a 981 Cayman S, and all I can say is, what a car! Most fun car I have ever driven, plenty of power, superb handling, great engine noise. What more could you want!? Sure I’d love a GT3, or even a 911 GTS, but they are 2-5 times more than my Cayman. Yep, I reckon this is the sweet spot. Great video too btw, made me click ‘subscribe’ 👍
1Love the 981! Only car I regret selling. Need to buy again. Handles great, sound amazing, and just puts a smile on your face without spending six figures.
1To me a Boxter wins hands down over a 911 because you simply can’t beat the balance of a mid engined car. 911s are a triumph of engineering skill over physics but you can’t hide the physics completely.
1Every time I think of selling my 981 it ends with - 'well, what would be better?' The flat 6 in sports plus with the roof down is something I can't part with. The comments from those who haven't even sat in a 981 and want to bag it are just dumb.
1981 Boxster S owner here. Love it. Drove it and 991 911 back to back on a corporate Porsche experience day and fell in love with the mid engine balance and had to have one. Was tossing up between Boxster and Cayman. To me the ~$10k price difference and top down driving experience trumped any Boxster stigma. Seriously if I had to take it in hot pink I would the sound of the sports exhaust with the roof down is unreal
1I have a 997 C4S, I've driven different generations of Caymans, Boxters, 944, 914, 991's, and the new 992. They're all a little different but all very much Porsches. Buy what you like and phók everyone else. Don't let someone else's prejudice rob you of a truly enjoyable motoring experience.
1I'm genuinly being honest here, I have a 2025 Boxster Style Edition in Gentian Blue, and with the top down it is one of the most beautiful cars around. Can't go faster then 50mph on UK roads anyway so 300bhp works fine for me.
1I’ve owned 7 Porsches. The Boxster that I currently own is as much of a Porsche as any car that has ever left Stuttgart
1I have owned 5 Porsches. Two have been Boxsters, 2 911's. Anyone who says a Boxster isn't a real Porsche is clueless.
1Happy owner of a 981. I absolutely love it! The mid-engine is superb and handles everything you throw at it in terms of twists and turns. I had the chance to buy a 718 and didn't go for it because I love the Flat-6 more than the Turbo. When you get that roof down in the summer there's not much like it.
1In Germany we think of the Boxer as a top down mid engine daily Porsche sports car. I don't understand the negative issues you have. It might be location.
