Why have i become a recent Alfa fan ... since watching Redriven 😮
1Hi there—I own two Stelvios. Guys, this is probably the best and most detailed review of the Stelvio on YouTube; thank you. You covered all the issues associated with these cars—things I’d read about on forums, even though the only problem I personally experienced was with the battery. You also made a great point that Alfa Romeo likely won't make cars like this in the future, so if you're thinking about buying a Giulia or Stelvio—go buy one!
1I've got a 2017 MY Q4 with the 210 bhp diesel engine. Through 9 years and over 200,000 km's, the leather interior barely shows signs of usage, and held up extremely well. The suspension is still sharp, the ZF gearbox smooth, and in general, it's still bloody fun to drive. Although I'm always eyeing the QVs, even with this engine it's a speeding ticket magnet, but maybe one day.
1I was actually thinking about getting one of these last night and thought "wonder if there's a ReDriven on it" Frickin algorithms, man...
1What a time we live in when Alfa’s are some of the most reliable cars you can buy second hand now 😮
1I have a 2020 model TI 2.0 gas, just crossed 100,000 miles and like you mentioned in the video I cannot believe the interior still looks brand new, the paint still has no rock chips, this is such a well-made car. I have never had a mechanical issue, and it drives so so well.
1My sensible garage has a Stinger and a Sorento in it. My other garage has a Giulia and a Stelvio in it.
1Awesome review.. The interior and dashboard layout looks the goods.. Physical buttons and knobs everywhere.. The peak of interiors before manufacturers started throwing screens up everywhere..
1My wife and I own a 17 Giulia and a 21 Stelvio both have been very reliable fun and beautiful autos
1The 2.2 Multijet engine is actually really reliable, not as bulletproof as the old 1.9 unit in the 159s, but it is not a "Dont buy it because X problem will happen" type of engine. The only issues known are the oil pump. It's really easy to see them at over 300.000km.
1The Giorgio platform is superb. Alfa is the passion of Italian design without all the massive drama (like Moto Guzzi motorcycles). Also nice to spot an Erebus Watch on the wrist!
1'speak to people in the industry and they say Alfas are just unreliable'....erm....I think those people need to step out of the 80's. The Giorgio platform is one of the best built and most reliable over the last 10 years.
1Heads up, the crazing on the screen almost certainly relates to dealers/alfa leaving the protective stickers on too long...my car was one of those affected and part of the problem was the 2018 manufactured ones sat in warehouses until they were sold in 2020....with the protective stickers on exposed to Australian heat. This damaged the screens and it appears over time. I had mine replaced under warranty as did others.
1I have a 2021 Stelvio. Absolutely love it. Except that I have to drive 6 hours to get it worked on. Closest dealer.
1One of the few SUVs I like the look of. But I'd still take Giulia any day of the week
