    I think the one thing that was missed is the reason why the car was such a successful rally car. The Lancia Delta entered rallying at the tail end of Group B, when Group B was banned in the mid 80s many manufacturers didn't have cars suited or ready for Group A racing but Lancia already had the perfect car for it and had a huge head start on the competition.
