It’s been almost two years since Jaguar showed the Type 00 concept car to the public, and it’s fair to say the production car looks remarkably similar to the concept! Jaguar was aiming for a full reset with the Type 00 concept. The question is, does the production car help it achieve its goal? Let’s take a closer look… The similarities to the Type 00 Concept are clear. For starters, it’s absolutely colossal! It has a huge bonnet, and the car measures 5.2 metres long. Along the front you’ll find thin headlights and DRLs, as well as a bumper that features active aero to help the Type 01 cool when required. The ‘grille’ includes the same lines as seen on the concept, along with Jaguar’s all-new logo. From the side, you’ll find 23-inch alloys that come as standard, four doors (unlike the two seen on the concept), and pop-out door handles. Around the back, the slat design continues across the entire rear end, with two full-length light bars built into them. There’s also a pop-up spoiler when the car hits high speed, and perhaps most notably, there’s no rear window! On the inside, the interior of the Type 01 is incredibly minimalistic. There’s a large central spine that runs from the front to the rear (so it’s strictly a four-door), and there’s a small infotainment screen to manage the climate controls. There’s a large digital dial screen that’s touch-sensitive, and the steering wheel is modern and comes with buttons to control the dial screen. There’s a sound bar that runs along the length of the windscreen, with speakers built into the seat headrests. A car of this size needs a lot of power, so it’s no surprise it comes equipped with three electric motors - one at the front and two at the rear. The three combine to produce 1,030hp and 1,365Nm, with a claimed 0-60 time of 4 seconds. That may seem slow for a car with so much power, but then again, it does weigh around 2.7 tonnes! We don’t have an official price yet, but don’t be surprised to find it any cheaper than £120,000! So do you think it’s worth it? Let us know in the comments! Jaguar didn’t take a risk. They put wheels on one.

That continuous armrest is like I have bought something long from Ikea and had to fit it in the car.

I’m impressed that it’s so similar to the concept car. Usually manufacturers tone it down a lot between concept and production

We're nearing 6 meter long passenger cars with a boot big enough for toddler's luggage! Hoorah!

Gonna have balls of steel to park that in a tesco car park. Plenty of Land Rovers worth more than this in my local Tesco. Perhaps you need to move if your tesco is full of boxes. Anyone putting this alongside a Rolls in status needs to be certified.

Usually, I like concept cars and always get annoyed by how little of them makes it into production. Here, for the first time, it's the other way around.

Looks like an Audi concept If you add the 4 rings instead of “Jaguar”, cannot unsee it

For a car that long to have that little room in the rear is absolutely diabolical.
